Tile & Natural Stone: Floor, Wall, and Backsplash

Tile is one of the first decisions to make in a room's design. It shouldn't be an afterthought. Every decision involving floor tile, wall tile, or backsplash tile should be made in service of your space's proportion, light, and function, long before paint colors or furnishings enter the picture. We select our field tile and natural stone tiles for how they perform across a home: natural stone flooring made to withstand everyday use, wall and backsplash tile that brings dimension to the kitchen, and bathroom tile selected to stand up to moisture while maintaining its natural texture. The same standard carries into every other space tile might reach: an entry, a laundry room, an accent wall, or a commercial project. We decide on performance first. The room's character follows from there.

Pair Tile With Wallpaper and Stone to Build a Complete Material Palette

No tile selection should be made in isolation. The strongest interiors treat flooring, wall surfaces, and fixtures as a single material story which is why we curate our tile alongside wallpaper and finish hardware within our broader Materials + Finishes library. If you're building a bathroom around natural stone tile, specify it alongside your vanity, faucet, and tub at the same time, rather than piece by piece after the fact.

This is the difference between a room that reads as curated and one that reads as assembled. Grout tone should relate to your wall color. Metal finishes on your faucets and hardware should echo the undertone of your stone. Wallpaper, where you use it, should extend the palette your tile establishes rather than compete with it.

Tile is one of the few materials in your home that outlasts trends, furniture, and paint color, so it's worth getting right the first time. For kitchens, primary baths, and full renovations built around these principles, our design team specifies tile as part of your complete architectural plan, not a standalone purchase.
